Hoʻomaikaʻi Kumu Kristi Desuacido

Our very own Kumu Kristi was awarded the ClimbHI Community Engagement Educator of The Year Award. This and other awards focus on educator and business community engagement. The awards recognize business engagement in schools statewide, as well as the top-participating schools, educators and complex areas, as measured by the ClimbHI Bridge online portal. The Bridge was launched in 2021 in an unprecedented public-private partnership, linking educators, students, businesses and organizations to provide workforce development opportunities. There are 240 schools and 440 businesses participating on ClimbHI Bridge and Hālau Kū Māna is one of the participating schools. Kumu Kristi received the Outstanding Educator Award for connecting with 10 or more businesses and organizations last school year. She brought in most of our guest speakers for our third quarter Lā ʻOhana which focused on College and Career Opportunities for the 2022-2023 school year. Help us celebrate our very own Kumu Kristi. The founder, president and CEO of ClimbHI Julie Morikawa visited HKM to present Kumu Kristi with her award. Papa Nowelo celebrated this wonderful acknowledgment with their kumu.
