Our first student-driven CD project, created in 2002, and only available to the public now! As with Mana Maoli II, student involvement includes creating and recording songs, singing and playing instruments, graphic art, packaging, and sales! They are joined by guest artists such as Ernie Cruz, Jr, Guy Cruz, Sista Micky and Jimbo (Ooklah the Moc), Bla Pahinui, Papa Joe (B.E.T.), Kapali (Lahaina Grown), Kevin (Kupa’aina) and more! The title track, written by 4 students (ages 11,13,15,17) has received substantial airplay on O’ahu, Maui, Kaua’I, Hawai’I, Alaska, California, Arizona, and Aotearoa! Price: $15.00

Public Charter schools in Hawai`i are demonstrating amazing success with their children and families, despite severe inequity in funding and facilities (they receive half the monies spent per pupil at mainstream public schools, and no facilities support). 100% of proceeds from CD sales benefit both HKM and the larger 12 school alliance, Na Lei Na’auao. T-shirt sale proceeds go to HKM. |
